I want to draw up a list (in Post #1 above) of all the small, 2 sleeper (max) Off Road Caravans.
Note: The difference between an Off Road Trailer & an Off Road Caravan is the Trailer you sleep on, the Caravan you sleep in.

Number 1 on the list would be the Jurgens XCape - bt it really isn't the smallest or the toughest.
So I'd place the XCape at the far end in terms of this category.

Please add your suggestions & I'll update post #1.

BushLapa has the Kewer (note sure of Price, their sales prevention department keeps it secret).
They also had the Rooimier but it was discontinued.
I think the Vlooi was also scrapped.

Invader Duo is a hybrid. You climb into the trailer after it has been unfolded to sleep on top of it... And the OLD Jurgens streamline but that would need some HEAVY modifications for off-road use.

Afrispoor Caracal, Wildcat, Cheetah and Serval are all 2-sleepers. Not sure about price. But Afrispoor is the one I would buy when the lotto finally selects my number.
Bushlapa you will know from the many posts and followers it has.
Imagine trailvan but I think they have been discontinued. Very nice kakavaans though. Used one many years ago but the external tent was not very well designed.
Jurgens, Echo, Conqueror... you have PLENTY to choose from
Cheese, canals and mud. Flattest country in the world. Wish they had 4x4'ing here

We looked at them all, The Invader Duo, still ticks all the boxes. From affordability, to practical, to neat design, and stability. Its been to places to places where others will never go, its a proper off road caravan.

One of the only caravans been exported commercially.

Ones one might be interested in are :

Edge Out …. https://edgeout.co.za/
Sherpa Tiny
Oryx

Horizontal activities inside ...
Vertical and more vigorous, expansive antics etc
outside under adjoining awnings, tent etc

Not aware of any Regal Crapping contraptions
that would satisfy some of our more fastidious glampy members ...

Loftus on Republic road currently have first and last on show.

Edge Out …. https://edgeout.co.za/
Sherpa Tiny
Oryx
That Edge Out is crap.
It's tiny but longer than any of those listed.
I doubt it's a real Off Roader, it can probably only go where the XCape can go - if that.
The kitchen is pathetic & if the sun is behind you your get burnt calves while cooking.
Not sure it has space for a fridge.
It has very little packing space.

That Shepa Tiny is an Off Road Caravan in much the same way the Amarok is an Awesome trail vehicle or the Wrangler Limited is a great overlander.

The Jurgen's Oryx qualifies, but it was discontinued & only a few were every made.
If you look long & hard you may find ONE used example on sale at any given time - if you lucky...

Please try harder Chas...

Manny the Shepa factory is down the road from National Luna next door to Auto Aircon. We had a look at their products before we bought the Xplorer. I was impressed with the workmanship and the way you can change the configuration inside the shell when you order from the factory. The Tiny is probably the least "off road" of their van's if I remember correctly. Next time you come to the area for some Peri-Peri Chicken you should go have a look at the factory. I might even be able to tear myself away from my busy work schedule to show you where it is.

So we agree Paul, the Sherpa Tiny is not an Off Road Caravan..?
