Thanks Manny

Great feedback and advice.

This is exactly our philosophy as well.

All our trailers come standard as a base model, meaning just a shell. (does include the fridge slide though)

Fom there we add the necessary components per client specification or requirement. Not even the kitchen is fixed/built in. I don't think the manufacturer should decide where it should go and what it should look like. We even have different roof rack options based on the client's requirements.

One of the nenefits of all out trailers is that it is made of seperate components that bolts together. Nothing is welded in place. So any panel can be modified (during manufacturing) or replaced separately if damaged.

This goes for all models in our lineup.

Some other benefits:

. All stainless 3CR12
. Powder coated
. Customizable and many options available. If the option does not yet exist, we simply make it
. Fixed axle or independant suspension options availble
. Very light weight, tows really easy and is tremendously stable
. 5 Year warranty - we will fix or replace any component that fails (excluding abuse) no questions asked
. Wheel base and wheels can match that of towing vehicle

I still think there is room for more innovation in the camping trailer field. We are in the process of developing some new products that will be fairly innovative. I will showcase them at the open day as well as a trailer on display.

Some photos of the process - this one was a quality test fit:

My 2c will he everything close and mostly on the same side. When preping food the fridge and sink should not be on the opposite side or to far apart. Also having to reach over the stove to get to the fridge is not nice

My 2 cents, your client a user manual, even a blue print, believe me even the expensive trailers gives problems. My Invader us a super trailer, but far from perfect. The kitchen practicality sells your trailer. I love your design, it looks solid and value for money.

We do make a sleep inside - the little square drop trailer. I will make a version of it where the roof will pop up as well, hopefully later this year.

Correct. We supply a full owners and user manual - very in-depth. it even has the serice booklet and service/maintenance schedule included :D

In the manual we explain things like torque settings and checks on all bolts, regular pre-checks etc. Each manual is also tailored to each build as per the customer's specs.
Not always sure if perople read it though.. :?

Getting back to the question of innovation - something I feel lacking in the industry.

We have designed some new features for the upcoming version of our square drop trailer:
Integrated awnings on both sides - can also add sides to make is a full room
Integrated shower - this one I am very excited about - havent seen anything like it on the market
Slide out clothing cupboards - this is a big deal for swambo
Kitchen comes with a few neat features and accessories

Then, to make it a 4 sleeper (optional):
Clam shell type pop top, integrated to the roof. A pass-through option is available as well.
Entry is NOT via ladder, but via comfortable integrated steps, with a hand rail inculded, as well as a landing - perfect for the kids or older folks..cough cough.

On the normal camping trailers - most of the innovation lies in the accessories and options, seeing as the shell is just that. We have however redesigned the nose box to include additional secure storage.

A two-wheeled Jockey stem is good
esp for sand and soft ground etc
and I like the B***L*** system of
detaching the Jockey Wheel
and storing it upside down on the A-frame
esp for when negotiating extreme speed humps,
dips etc.

Also :

A detachable cradle/s for a collapsible basin,
or other such accessories

Zipped or Velcroed canvas curtaining
that rolls up or to the side to retain
loose items in cupboards or on shelves etc.

Egg-box style foam cut-outs for 'presenting'
cups & herbs and jars to onlookers etc
is aesthetically picturesque but impractical,
woke and a waste of space IMO.

"detaching the Jockey Wheel

Good advice. Will add that definately.

"A detachable cradle/s for a collapsible basin,
or other such accessories"

Usually spec'ed by customer, but ja is an offering currently.

"Zipped or Velcroed canvas curtaining
that rolls up or to the side to retain
loose items in cupboards or on shelves etc."

Like it. We do offer canvas bag options, again tailored to customer specs. We have our own internal canvas sewing shop so can make anything needed.

"Egg-box style foam cut-outs for 'presenting'

Agreed! I'm a big proponent of practicallity and function over "show pieces".

Keep'em coming :)

... one needs to carry a Gas Bottle somewhere
and IMO it preferably needs to be docked:
* in the open & no internal pipes etc in case it leaks
* be no bigger than a 3kg bottle (generally plenty)
* be in a place you can conveniently use it in-situ
( ie put burner rose straight on, light and boil/cook
* have a docking bracket that can accommodate
any of the main brand 3kg bottles ...

That said I originally set up a bracket on the front
triangular A frame panel but then I wanted to be able
to put other things there eg extra Front Cupboard
or Wood Basket etc
So I then I made up a second one in a ledge-box
at back LHS of trailer (with the Number Plate moved
'behind' it.

If one cooks with gas-bottle in its dock probably
need a loose heat/wind shield esp to protect paintwork
and avoid burning anything else nearby.

Will try post photos later ....

I think next time I am camping I will walk around with just a general feedback kind of thing from my 2011 model and make a video of what I like/dislike. I never expected to own such a major trailer but while we are are here ne.

Maybe my musings as Manny calls it can help out fellow Camper/builders.

Agreed.
We buy our locks in bulk, and they come in sets with same serial numbers so the keys are the same. Issue is you sit with so many "redundent" keys :)
I have been working with the supplier to provide us with both slides that have the locking mechanism, not just one side. Auto lock on small slides are achieved by using small internal snap latch locks, works very well.
