Efficient wrt wood/charcoal to heat
Can control heat/flame
Can braai, bake potjie etc etc

... about 75 quid for basic unit, but the accessories are
pricey ... about same price again
... a full cobb set would be cheaper and probly (?) relatively interchageable top- parts with Poitjie King, besides being a good stand alone roaster ( esp in wet weather Kurt ... !)

Chas, has the Whiskey finally turned your aging brain to mush?
Why would you, on a Thread about camp braai's - where lightweight, cost-effective compact braai's are being discussed, recommend an item that is:
* Sold in the UK
* Neither compact nor Cost effective
* Not a Braai.
* Misnamed.
* Basically just a poorly made Cobb?
Fok us Chas, Fokus...

The Potjie King is , above all , VERY effective for a small braai unit and the Cobb VERY effective for a roast or even bake with charcoal.
To my knowledge theyre made here and the basic units are not THAT pricey ... to the logical & unconfused ...
... maybe, look into the facts ahead of such impulsive '' BOLLOCKs ' as Kurt's new UK buddies would say !!!!

So I recieved my new braai.
Must say I'm most impressed! Comes in a decent ripstop canvass bag and is definately good quality!
I don't think that it's ideal for overlanding as it is quite heavy for it's size - but certainly perfect for normal camping.
It's sturdy and the 2mm stainless steel should prevent it from wapping too much when it's hot.
The fold up grill might not match the braai's quality but should be easy enough to replace.
It's also big enough for me to braai for all 5 of us.
All in all I think it was a good buy.
