An absolutely beautiful camping site. Probably one of the most scenic sites I have ever been to.

The campsites are located at the bottom of a canyon in the Molopo riverbed. The surrounding cliffs tower up all around you and are quite majestic. Lots of birds, dassies are seen on the rocks as are baboons. The baboons do not bother you though. At night the sky is breathtakingly stunning.

There are three very nice little pools supplied by a hot spring. The pools vary from hot to cool. The cool pool is located in a grotto and it is a special experience.

Sites are haphazardly located, some with shade others without.

The ablutions are not great but clean. Only two toilets for the whole place and only two showers with no hot water. In summer this is not a problem but at cooler times you would have to make a plan to provide your own hot water. This is rustic camping where you have to bring all your own stuff. No shop. No wood available.

From Riemvasmaak there is a very scenic drive to the confluence of the Molopo and Gariep rivers. Definitely a worthwhile drive with stunning vistas of the surrounding craggy mountains. Augrabies Falls is also nearby and worth a visit.
