Kyleu Lodge Dinokeng

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

I had a very pleasant weekend at Kyleu Lodge Dinokeng.

Checked in Friday.

Due to high prediction of rain I suspect many people cancelled their trips to Dinokeng this weekend, so it wasn't overfull.

Had a few too many G&T's an got to bed too late on Friday.

Saturday was a game drive and visit to Arlington Brewery followed by an afternoon nap.

Saw plenty buck (Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Wildebees) but not much else.

Saturday night was a subdued early evening, but the lions were making their voices heard and a male seemed to be getting closer as a drifted off.

I was up during the night twice.
Next morning I heard that a pride of 5 with Cubs had been in stand 10 (we were in stand 7) around midnight and were still in the area at 04:00.

All in all a very pleasant weekend with great weather...

Thanks for sharing.

Still want to go there for a weekend.

Did you have to pay for the drive through the park?

Yes, the conservation fee for 3 of us for 1 day in 1 vehicle was about R250...

The question will follow, after having the Disco a while, would you theoretically trade Fearless for the Disco, money not being an 'option'. Pro's and Cons thus far maybe?
It's all relative...

The Disco is a nicer platkar than Fearless, but in hard offroading and harsh overlanding it could prove frightfully expensive if it gets damaged or needs attention....
...or a crank.

Tows my trailer well, though.
