4x4 Action Group

Good day all,

We are a family of 4: 2 adults, one 2 year old and a 5 year old. We owned bush caravans for the past 6 years and we prefer to camp in the bush (we don’t like camping in Caravan Parks next to Jurgens Exclusives if you get me....)

This thread is to get a list of 4x4 Bush camps that are family (with small Children) friendly.

Sondel’s Tambuki Bushcamp is my preferred 4x4 Bush camp and here is why:

- a real bush camp but with descent ablutions
- well cleared camp area so no unexpected creatures
- close to Pretoria
- you can use the amenities on the properties (warm water swimming pool etc) but you need to drive 10km getting there from the bush camp

I would have thought that all camping sites are children friendly? One should just control your children. But I do not camp and know nothing about this.

Kyleu in Dinokeng mooi boskamp eie badkamer geriewe maar geen swembad nie.

Dankie Leon, Swembad is nie n vereiste nie maar ten minste net iets wat die kinders kan doen. Ek sit him by die lys dankie

Isn't that an unfenced camp? If it is can it be noted on the list. Families with small children would have to be extremely vigilant.

Ja is nie omhein nie naar Kyleu is baie lekker.
Dan is daar Bendito Ranch net buite Potties op n 800ha plaas een van my beste bos kampoe nog , Tom en Annemarie se plek.

Matamba. Clean sites, open bush showers, swimming pool and nice gravel roads to drive if you are bored.

Ja ek is self lus vir 'n lekker kampplek wat nie 'n vertrapping nie. Maar my kinder is maar nog klein en ek het nie off-grid capability op die stadium nie.

Cornell n mens kan ver kom met n lekker groot battery (ten minste 2 aande) en jumper leads om daai battery te laai.

I am starting to discover more and more gems. Pity I didn’t venture out further years ago.
