Campsite Drakensberg

#1

Post by LesseW »

Evening all members,

My family and I want to go camping end of December in the Drakensberg. I need help to find a camp site with the following:

1. Private stand
2. With electricity
3. Activities for our young children
4. Spectacular views are a must

I don’t mind spending extra rands to get value for money (obviously within a budget).

Help me out here please...

It has a remote campsite with decent views. No need to drive the trail if you don’t feel like it.

I can’t think of another campsite other than the one near Drakensberg Boys Choir, but that’s a pretty average campsite which won’t suit your needs.

There is Monks Cowl - Natal Parks Board or whatever they are called now. Was there a few years ago.
hlalanati or some thing like that is another. Nice views decent sites.
If you want mountains you could try Golden Gate near Clarens.
Royal Natal National Park - Natal Parks Board.

Private stand in December I don’t think you will find.

Wessel, at 3 Provinces there are secluded chalets, well away from the camp area, that you can rent...
