The Defender 90 is more famous than Fortuner’s with respect to falling over.... caution is advised.
Media hype or actual experience... tell me more ... etc
quote some actual examples ... etc

I first drove a Landry 50 years ago ... and have seen a lot in action ... seen only one roll.

A few years ago I helped the mighty 4x4 Action Group design an obstacle at Base 4 near Hennops for an off-road day.

We were given the obstacle that is a steep down slope on sand that you descend from the higher section of the course.

Only one other 4x4 Club lodged a complaint that their Defender 90 members were concerned for their lives due to a roll over concern with our pole placement. We had to move some poles to make the obstacle safe for all participants.

Guess which club lodged the complaint?

... how does this constitute any factual back up ? I was probably there ... have been a member & know both clubs !
Never seen a Landry roll at Base4 or in 44AG ... but well aware of respective clubs safety concerns and protocol.
... Hype ... !

Think about it ..
Defenders have Aluminium bodywork and generally higher unsprung weight at low level even with higher ground clearance,
SFA ... and relative to wheel bases.
... so are their centers of gravity, roll-over thresh-holds etc really worse relative to other vehicles ?
Most quoted roll-overs relate to top roof-rack loaded touring/camping vehicles that is not relevant at all.

Didn’t Adriaan Aucamp (Rangerover on the other forum) roll his 90 a few years ago? I seem to recall something like this....

to get back on topic........ Yes i would say for every day use the Pajero is better.
but even a Mahindra Thar will give it a serious go off road an priced at R250k it is R450K cheaper than the PAJ(R710K.

All in All my Pick will still be a JEEP JK RUBICON 2020 Model still available @ R688k

Think nothing touches a modified Wrangler.

All my close to or near roll overs were in shorties. If you do serious off road with a shorty I will invest in a very good roll cage.

So what is the best size for trails?
The new 100 (90) or the new 120(110)?

Jimny — I'm to fat
Jeep — Im not a pretzel
Old defenders - I don't smoke camels.

Is old lancruisers or Patrols or Hummers to big?

FJ Cruiser--?

What else is left.

This is TIC

Can you fit 35's on the New 90 or New 110?
Does it comes with front and rear lockers?
Suspension kits?

Modified FJ will be smoked by very few.

35s... probly (... not really necessary)
Front and rear lockers kits .... yes
suspension kits ... yes ... (tho probly only need detach roll-bars ...)
.... or use old 110 chassis/suspension equivalent to RRClassic
( std clearance probly more than the rest)
(Pumas have traction control as std)

PS Jacko’s Cherokee seemed more capable than the Wranglers ...

Chas... please retype the post above legibly when you sober up.

Please don't use so many full stops - use the time saved by not hitting 'dot, dot, dot, dot' repeatedly to run spell check.

The re-read the post to check if anyone, other than you, would know what you are warbling on about.

Thanks...
