I notice LesseW has no clue about current NEW car prices. None. Whatsoever.

Has any body on this forum driven the new Defender, taken it for a spin around the block or on a 4x4 track. The person who has done that is the persons comments I would like to have hear about. I have a funny suspicion when a fella spent time in the UK he did just that.

I actually went to go check specs and pricing before I commented, as my initial was to get a Prado 3.0VX, I have always loved the Prado and I really like the lastest facelift, but when I compare the Prado VX price to the 200GX its a no brainer, for me I don't need so many of the fancy nice-to-haves like electric seats, I would, hands down get a 200GX, just the power outputs had me sold. The only downside I can see, is there are no diff locks... (and Toyota has the wrong engine code on the website)

I didn’t see one Defender in the UK, have they been released anywhere yet?

If I were to choose between a new Defender or a Land Cruiser 200GX then the choice is very simple: 200GX. I don’t care for fancy gimmicks and electronic what what or stylish good looks that your Jeep owning boyfriend will be jealous of. I just want a reliable, spacious long distance cruiser (no pun intended) that’s both comfortable and capable. Diff locks are also not necessary as I don’t go off-road anymore.

Just to clarify, the LC 200 doesn't have diff locks, but it has HDC, Crawl Control & Active Traction Control (ATRC)...

The 200 comes with Center Diff Lock and all the goodies mentioned by the mal man above.

I'll also take the 200 ( I've got one) above the rest.

... I’d buy that entry level New Defender for R950k and then use the R500k balance to the budget ceiling to buy a mint condition
Defender Heritage or ...
a 100% refurb Series or Defender

The new Defender is just over priced

I will rather go for a V8 Diesel Cruiser 200
