Here is an update of the work done on my Disco's auto gearbox by Peter and the guys at Overland Worx.
After replacing all the forward drive auto clutch packs the box was re-assembled and refitted to the vehicle. On testing it Peter wasn't completely happy with the way the torque converter was operating so the gearbox came out again and the torque converter was replaced. It seems that some of the friction material that had worn off the clutches had remained in the system and has lodged in the valve blocks again causing some shifting gremlins. The valve block has now been removed again and is being ultrasonically cleaned and will be refitted this afternoon for me to collect the Disco this evening.
The amazing thing is that with this additional work being done to get the gearbox operating as new, the price for the complete job hasn't changed from the original quote of R12k that Peter had given me. This is a far cry from the R40K to R50k that all the so-called gearbox specialists had quoted me. This level of service is almost unheard of now with most places trying to squeeze as much as possible out of each customer.
Thank you again to Peter and his team at Overland Worx for getting my Disco running again at an affordable price.

When I collected the Disco from Overland Worx I got another unexpected surprise. When they had the gearbox out they noticed that the crank rear seal and the sump gasket were leaking slightly. Both of these were changed without any additional cost to me. In my opinion this is really above and beyond.

The Disco is going better than it ever had since I bought it. The gear changes are smooth all the way through the range and torque delivery is great. My Disco is good for the next 250k km.
