2020 GWM P-Series 'Cannon' Bakkie (NOT a STEED)

Post by Mad Manny »

GWM will be launching a P-Series bakkie in SA within a years.

Currently GWM has the Syteed5 & Steed6 small pickups.

But the P-Series will be the size of a current Hilux or Ranger.

What is interesting isthe powerplants.

The Diesel seems to just be the 120kW/400Nm Amarok 2.0 with 8 speed Auto - so nothing new.

BUT! for stupid people who prefer the flammable Devil Juice to power them to a fiery death, there's a Turbo Petrol motor.
Great Wall Motors announced a turbocharged 2,0-litre petrol engine will be offered, delivering 140 kW and 360 N.m via a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission

Remember the ONLY manufacturer to offer Petrol Engined Double Cabs in SA is the Great & Glorious Toyota.
They offer a choice of the indestructible (but under-powered & heavy on fuel) 2.7i & the proven mighty V4 4.0 with single VVTi.

So the GWM will potentially offer 3rd petrol choice which will be arguable lighter on fuel (but probably less reliable)...
