The 2020 Isuzu D-Max has been revealed in Thailand.
The 3.0D-teq (which has 120kw & 360Nm in my KB5 D-Teq, but 130kW & 380Nm in the KB6/D-Max) has been upgraded to 140kW & 450Nm.
There is also the Ddi 1.9 with 120kW & 360Nm.
Hopefully Isuzu SA will still dump the old 250D in the workhorse models.
The 2.5 D-Teq has been discontinued, in fact it has been long gone in most markets except SA...
I like it - to me the Isuzu is the best bakkie on the market, but it always scores lowly in tests as it is old, unrefined & lacks three-letter acronyms (Like HSC or ESC).
This new model will address all that .

Looks like it may have rear coils, but the rear brakes will be drums...
Seems like every aspect has been improved - bigger, more power, bigger front brakes, more features, more tech, more safety...
Can't wait to get the detailed specs...

I have always liked the Isuzu. This one looks great.
When the SA economy turns, then I may consider buying one, or the MU-X.

Another way of saying that you will never ever buy an Isuzu. [emoji57]

Great looking vehicle. Def looks the part.
Pity such videos contain high speed off road excursions in dunes and beaches.
Encourages the dumbassess out there to stuff pristine places in Bots and Nam.
Sad

There was a Mini advert encouraging people tw drive upside down in tunnels & a Micra add saying you should bend roads & a beer advert that said you can drop through a floor & land in the Arctic circle...
I think we are wise enough to tell the difference between flashy advert & encouragement...

Most things that get revealed in Thailand have bits you weren't necessarily expecting....

This bakkie looks very lekker, I wonder if we will get both motors... also will the Mu-X be based on this chassis and if so, how soon will the MU-X be available??? I hope Isuzu can steal 2nd spot from Ford in sales, that would make Manny happy!

Many moons ago I think it were in the mid 90`s Isuzu were the top selling bakkie dethroning the Hilux. Isuzu always had good products and I have owned a few Isuzu bakkies which gave me excellent service. Only the then Delta dealers sucked as did GM later on. If they can up customer service they will have a winner.

Well done Isuzu.
If released in SA/NAM, I will have my eye on that 3,0lt.
Basically they have addressed all that kept me from possibly buying one:
1) More power and torque;
2) Safety tech
3) Locking differential
4) Better interior. The current one looks like it has been designed by a toddler

This new ones proportions have been considerably revised compared to the old model.
It’s roof height is lower, length is shorter but with an increased wheelbase. It’s also wider.
This suggests better on road manners & comfort.

It have coils at the back. To my knowledge the only successful bakkie with coils at the back were the Defender.
New Navara have endless problems with its rear coil setup.

I foresee that Isuzu will make the coils work at the back.
