Daily Driver - Duster vs Outlander
I been looking at getting another daily driver & the new Duster Gen3 is the obvious choice.
But I’ve always had a soft spot for the Mitsubishi Outlander. So for the price of a new Duster I could also consider a used Outlander. Both have advantages & disadvantages so it would be interesting to hear some thoughts on this.

The Outlander is a very well built vehicle and it has a lot of space and many luxuries not found in other cars in the same class.
The engine is a normally aspirated 2.4 petrol versus the diesel of the Duster, so the Duster wins in the economy run.
The Mitsubishi service network is a scarce commodity so this has to be considered over the long run because who knows that their plans are to stay in the country?
Other than these items, I can’t think of much else to sway your decision except that your obsession with the Renault brand probably means this thread is pointless?

I went to have a look at the newer version Outlander today. It’s very nice. There’s very little available in CTN in terms of demo/used old models of the latest shape.
They are giving a big discount on new ones but a lightly used one could prove to be even better.

Would.love to get wifey an Outlander.
Great car great space and all the bells and whistles including the best sound system.
But that CVT drive would not find me in it too often.
And our Mitsu Dealership is shared with Renault anyway. Way things are going.....

The model is too new for demos to be available, if I'm correct it's only been out 2 months, the dealer needs to keep it on demo for at least 6 months if I'm not mistaken. If you're patient you can pick one up for Christmas.

I love hearing gears change Kurt. Instead of a "hmmmmmmmmmm" which will drive me nuts.
Maybe I should get a CD disc that plays gear changes.
Like that guy with the violen doing V10 F1 race car simulation!

I think I previously drove a 2012 Outlander CVT. It was a little agricultural compared to the A4 CVT I had at the time. Perhaps the later ones are better.
