Badassery on 4-wheels

Hennessy have been at it again. This time they’ve taken the Gladiator name & changed it to Maximus.

But some notable stuff includes the 6.2 Supercharged Hellcat motor, making around 750 kw & 1265 Nm.

It’s also got a 6 inch lift & 20 inch wheels. Sadly they lost the plot with the BFG tyres but with 1000hp they are not likely to last very long anyway.

I recently got a sidewall cut
on a middle-aged/worn GY-Wrangler
and replaced it with a BFG at about 25%
higher cost 😬😮...
BFG and GYW are gen my tryres of choice
and tyre garage folk , managers and fitters alike, generally deem BFG to be superior
esp wrt sidewall strength.
Ive often wondered if BFG just pay
a higher/better commission pay-back
on sales than other brands but ...
I have also found BFG to have the edge.

It's very very nice.

It's amazing how organised the yanks are. this is available as a conversion as the stock vehicles hit the floor. They'll have sold LOTS already.

Incidentally - when converting from hp and ft lbs to kW and N.m the approximate value for both is 1,35 -

kW is hp/1,35
Nm is ft.lbs * 1,35

I see you edited it!

Garage folk & fitters don’t all go offroad so their ignorance could be excused.

BFG are consistently outperformed by much cheaper tyres.

Oh ....... so Neil’s benchmark for a good off-road tyre is that it is good on-road.

Makes sense

Please post links to the ‘other tests’

I’ve had 2 MT makes that outbrake BFG AT on wet tar. Which is a good measurement of how terrible they are as a supposed all terrain. They should rename them as No Terrain

BFG are really terrible on wet tar, that is certain and cannot be ignored. Makes it fun though during a rain storm [emoji28][emoji51]
