This should be interesting. It’s in the petrol buggy class with a V8.

I think we can just call that a trophy truck!

Aren’t trophy trucks all front engined? The Dakar ones are rear mounted.

Also, trophy trucks have big engines, mostly petrol. Even the diesels are 5.0L plus, whereas the Dakar engines are much more restricted.

Robbie Gordon did enter a Hummer trophy truck in the Dakar but that’s before the engine rules got stricter I think.

I see Robbie is back in it in a UTV / Side by Side this year.

that long travel front suspension is all trophy truck - I think the main class has a front engine as it's supposed to be based on road trucks, but other classes have a rear engine. definitely a better layout for desert racing.

The H1 they entered was pretty much a stock vehicle with upgraded suspension, but that was about 20 years ago and was never going to take the abuse.

The Land Rover AJ v8 is claimed to be Jaguar or that is what Jaguar claims. The 5.0l V8 used by Jaguar and Land Rover is filled with parts stamped FOMOCO. When one read the Ford side of the same story the claim they 5.0l Coyote to be a Ford Modular v8 off spring. I doubt the Jaguar claim and think they used the Modular block and developed the heads in conjunction with Ford while still under the Ford flag.

Interesting as said most parts on the AJ v8 Jag has FOMOCO casted or stamped on them. I know a friend with a 5.0l RR did some repairs on that engine :D

My hunch is you will find a Ford Coyote race engine in there

I tried to find out but google didn’t reveal anything. Considering their history, it’s probably a Merc V8. But I always thought they had to use an engine that’s already in their stable, like Toyota uses Lexus & Renault/Nissan uses Infinity V8’s. So I dunno how they got that right because they don’t make V8’s.

Mahindra besit so 70% van ssangyong, so hulle sal seker maar mahindra engines gebruik.

Gebruik mahindra nog Peugeot en Steyer tipe engines?
