I agree with Grips. It looks like just another RR or Disco.

The Defender used to be distinctive when compared to the rest of their range. The same can be said for the Cruiser, FJ, G-Wagon, Jimny, Wrangler, etc. They are all stand-alone models.

But there’s just no obvious DNA between the old & the new Defender.

I looks like it stood on the head of a Disco Sport in order to climb out of the abortion bucket.
Well. The new Defender doesn’t look like anything in the current LR lineup. So they succeeded in making it stand out.
And now the sheeple will line up to buy it

I’ve heard R800K starting prices being thrown around. For that money I would rather buy a Prado

Bliksem.

If I had to choose LR, I would rather go for the Disco Sport in that price range.

It is probably fantastically capable on paper, like all new Land Rovers... Lets hope they get a 17"rim option

I for one like the looks, but it is no Defender (A Defender is a thing that you can bolt stuff too, and in doing that, you make the stuff look better)

But what I see in the pictures are:
Too low profile tyres
Too low approach angle
Too low seating position
No flat windshield
No way it will be a better over lander than a Prado (I think that will be its main competitor)

Isnt R800k like the lower spectrum of the Land Rover price range?
I think this one, will sell in droves..

It’ll sell for sure. But for a month or four. Thereafter sales will dwindle
