#1

Post by Mad Manny »

According to an article in the April Go! Drive&Camp (pg 28), Isuzu Dealerships should receive stock in June...

So I assume order books will be opened in the next month or so...

I have always been an Isuzu fan. Drove a Frontier many years back.

If the MU-X is half as reliable as a Frontier was, it will be one to consider in the near future.

The Frontier was the original bakkie-based SUV in SA and if you see how many are still around, the above rings true.

I believe engine output (3l diesel) to be 130kw 380NM.

Well, this will certainly be at the top of my list to replace the Pajero when the time comes (and I can afford it).

In Australia they've upped the D-Teq to 130kW & 430Nm..

But that's Australia only...

Hopefully it comes with a Difflock. That’s where the Targrazer fell a bit short

I completely agree Mike, the Targrazer is a great vehicle all round EXCEPT that it never had a diff-lock. Apparently the later models had a decent traction control system, not sure though

I think Isuzu will do their research, although I think for the local market they should call it the Frontier, just that name will help sell units.

The extra torque is lekker (Aus spec), will be interesting to see if SA gets the "new map"

They better bring in small engines too, that 2.4 Fortuner, in its various derivatives, seems to be popular...

Australia only has the 3.0 with increased power (130kW & R430Nm)

Indonesia only have the 2.5 with around 100kW & 360Nm

Thailand have mainly 2.5's, but the flagship is the 3.0 with 130kW & 380Nm.
but Thailand also get the 1.9 with 110kW & 350Nm
