I like.

So glad Toyota get rid of its set pill design shape.

Love these boxy looks.

Many components on the Chassis and drive train shared with the 300 series Cruiser.

Toyota was very clever. Let me explain:
The 1st Prado was the LC 90, it was followed by the much-loved 120.
We then got the outgoing 150.
So this new model should have been called the 180. But Toyota decided on calling it the 250.
Why?

Well, that was to fool the easily fooled Americans.
Stay with me here....

The US had the LC200, when that model was discontinued, Toyota decided to NOT launch the LC300 in the US, remember the US had the:
Highlander.
Lexus GX (a Lexus version of the Prado)
The LC200
The Sequoia (big LC)
The Lexus LX500 (Lexusized LC200)

That was too many offerings.

So what they've done is to give the Yanks the LC250 (Prado).
The Yanks think the LC200 was replaced by the LC250, unaware there is a LC300, although they do get it as a LexusLX600.

BTW in the US the LC250 (Prado) comes exclusively with a Turbocharged 2400cc motor producing more power and torque that the old V6 4.0...

New Prado has Swaybar disconnect....

On lesser Forums they are bemoaning the fact that it 'only' has 150kW from a small 2.8 4 cylinder, yet the Prado 90 had a big 3.4 V6 that produced 131kw and just over 300Nm.

Karen's have gotta Karen I suppose....

The 2.8 doing 500Nm. My experience with diesel engines is that torque is the most important figure. With 500Nm available it will be a nice tow vehicle
