Toyota's US lineup makes no sense.
The don't get the 300, but they get the LX600, they then have the larger Sequoia, they get the Prado in both Lexus and Land Cruiser forms, then they have the Fourunner which is basically their Fortuner.
Very jumbled....

To be fair there is not a lot of things in the USA that currently makes sense...

Motor choice for Aus is the 2.8 Fortuner motor only ???

That will be a crying shame if they do not include the 6 cylinder engines but I suppose they have to differentiate between the 250 and 300

Rumour has it that the won't put the V6 motors in. Toyota fears 'buy down'.
I suspect the cheapest 300, the ZX, will be scrapped as it overlaps with the Prado.

I'm hopeful that we and the Arsetrailias will also get the 2.4TP...

August 2023 and Toyota launched the new Land Cruiser Prado AND the updated Land Cruiser 70 series including the 2.6 GD6 version.
The also announced they have a Solid State Battery coming out in 4 years that will charge in around 10 minutes and do up to 1000km.

Meanwhile Land Rover of Rattan Tata motors made a big song and dance recently when they took a Defender 110 (which doesn't have a 110 inch wheelbase), gave it a looooong rear overhang, added 2 more seats and called it the 130 (but it doesn't have a 130 inch wheelbase).

So 3 big items from Toyota on 1 day while Tata Land Rover continues misnaming it's soft roaders...

Spotted the new 76 series on my neighbor's front yard. He must be doing some testing for Toyota

Reminds me when the 'Windows 95' came out, people called it the 'Mac 87'

That new Prado though looks very good.

Yes, back then the Safari and Cruiser looked the same.
Toyota is harking back to that look. The FJ40 look.
The 70 series has stayed true to it's roots, the Patrol and others, not so much.
So while Redman is cleverly poking fun at Toyotas retro face-lift ~ Toyota will take it as a compliment...

Eagerly awaiting the 2024 Prado. Specifically the 1958 edition.
