Indeed, Lexus products always got the good petrol engine options. Not really into diesel options by design. - must be the "upmarket" approach.

Somehow I do not expect this to change with new Prado. Rumour mill predict (for petrol options) the 2,4 I4 turbo with electric to be to top option, followed by same I4 without electric and the old 2,7 I4 slogging on for entry level.

Would really have loved to see the 3,4 V6 even without electric

Same prediction for present GD6 2,8 to remain as diesel option, maybe with electric.

Going to be interesting...

I see a lot of comments online whether the 3.3 V6 Diesel will be in the new Prado... Although this should be relatively easy to do from an engineering side on shared platforms, I think Toyota will be very wary of what this might do to the 300 sales... That being said they do need a decent V6 offering on the Prado/Fortuner sized SUV segment

On the Lexus though... Probably one of the better looking vehicles out there currently. Really looking forward to see it in real life. I've driven a Toyota Kluger Hybrid, and thought it was quite a pleasant drive. Toyota Group doe the Hybrid thing really well. And since a lot of Lexus's will be doing the school and mall run this will actually be a great option on these vehicles.

There were rumors that Toyota were looking at the current 2.4 (2GD-FTV) in Hybrid configuration for the next generation Prado, Fortuner and Hilux. Will most likely have our answer when the first Prado details are coming through

Redman, I can't see them fitting the 2.4 diesel to the Prado, but I hear the 2.4 Turbo Petrol may be fitted.
It has similar outputs to the old 4.0 V6, but sucks less fuel...

I tend to agree Manny... I think the word got out that it will be a 2.4 Hybrid and the assumption was made that they might re-develop die 2.4 Dinasour Burner for Hybrid application.

But... For what 90% of theme are used to that 2.4 Petrol in Hybrid configuration will be perfect.

Some artist impressions of the Prado starting to appear. Really good looking impression. Hope the real one resembles this.

If they bring that in a 2.4 Turbo, I’d be very tempted!

Frosty, I agree, there are some similarities, but there are also differences. For example:
The one is an overpriced piece of crap only bought but Cnuts.
The other one is the new Prado....

US Variant launched, but it is pretty much how it is going to look like for the rest of us...

Seems like it will only be called 'Landcruiser' in USA as they don't get other LC products. Some talks about dropping the Prado name in favor of the 250. But I think it will still be called the Prado. Cannot see them dropping the iconic name.

Looking good

I like it. Harks back to the 80 Series in profile.
We should find out what engines we will get shortly
Another Toyota success - it will outsell the similarly priced Defender....
