5000km update on the Patriots:
Did my first rotation this afternoon, tires are looking brand new still, with about 95% life left. Checked the balance and they were still spot on, with minimal weight needed.
Have done a few trips to Rostock (on the Mountain Passes that claimed a Disco 4 Rear Windscreen), about 350km of beach driving and a few dune trips. Also done a few longer tar trips. Noise is tolerable and ride is still firm.
See you in 5000km!

For a Hybrid tire, it’s about what I expect. Have had a bunch of sets on various vehicles over the last few years, and about 55k is what they are good for.
Coopers in general are over-priced crap… nothing but bad experiences with the ST Maxx. Never again.
First thing you do when you buy a 4x4.

I had a Suzuki Grand Vitara, which has an odd standard tyre size, and very few A/T tyres available. The Yokohamas I put on were not available in LT spec for that size. I paid! Now I will never put a non LT spec tyre on. I don't have the patience required to brew beer.
@Disco Nic
I also have an LT 4x4 and I am interested in fitting Patriots on mine as well. I have a few questions if you don't mind sharing some info.
- What size did you go for, 265/60/R18 or 265/65/R18?
- How is the road noise compare to the Factory tires?
I have the option between the following Tyres, believe they are all capable for the price.
- Pirelli Scorpion RT+ in 265/65/R18 @R3818
- General Grabber At3 in 265/60/R18 @R3300
- Patriot RT in 265/60/R18 or 265/65/R18 @R3750 - R4000. (Not sure if the 65 profile on the 18" Mags will rub.
My Family also lives in Swakopmund, coming down this December!

Only a knob head fits a 60 profile to a 4x4.
Let me call Poer Nic to respond.
Wait here....

The Patriots are a really good option, but they are a hybrid tyre, leaning more to a Mud Terrain. I went with 265/60R18 at N$4000/tire (for the sole reason that these were the first set of Patriots brought into SADC and no other size was available). Once these are shagged (which at this rate will be in about 40kkm) I am definitely going for 265/65. Mate of mine has a fleet of 3 GWM Rentals and they run 265/65 Radar/Patrios without any issues or rubbing.
Road Noise is... prominent... but when comparing it to Gingers on stock tyres, I'd say it is definitely something I am happy to live with. My roof rack and awning on the canopy make more noise than the tires do.

Manny’s comments really hurt my feelings, so today I went out and fitted a 65 profile tire on my car…
Roadcruza, which are used by everyone and their mom here in Namibia. Chinese Knock-off BFG, but without the debeading.
225/65 R17 really fills out the arches nicely.
