GWM TANK Sub Brand
GWN has a few Sub Brands:
1. GWM (clearly they never thought it through) which is basically bakkies.
2. Haval - basically SoftRoader SUV's
3. ORA - EV sh!tboxes
4. Wey - Luxury SUV's (Wey was the founder of GWM)
5. TANK - Capable SUV's.
So you'll see that they do SUV's as well as SUV's and SUV's. They also do SUV's.
Right, let's discuss the TANK sub brand...

The TANK sub brand is new & they are still busy rolling out the range.
But in true GWM (or is it Haval) fashion, it's a bit cluttered & disorganized.
There is the:
TANK 300
TANK 500
TANK Cool Dog
TANK Big Dog.
I initially thought the 300 was the 'Western' name for Cool Dog & 500 for 'Big Dog' - but it doesn't seem so.
Cool Dog is basically a Haval Jolion.
So who the hell knows how they are going to separate the models & make them distinctly different from the other GWM/Haval Sub brands like Wey & Haval.
So for us (Saffricans) we, at this stage, only need to concentrate on the 300 & maybe the 500...

The 300 seems to be a sort of Wrangler Unlimited competitor.
The 500 seems to be aimed at the Prado.
Read this:
https://www.citizen.co.za/motoring/gwm- ... a-in-2023/
You'll see it has the same Turbo charged, fuel guzzling 2.0 petrol motor that the Haval H6 uses.
Pricing will be interesting...

Must say, in a couple years when the Duster is old and decrepit, I am seriously considering the Tank 300.

Having owned 2, I must say the Defender should have had some development since 1984 like the Wrangler and 70 series. Sadly, the Solihull retards had no clue on ergonomics or progress. Therefore, it wasn't a pinnacle, it was a cheap compromise beaten by Yanks and Japs in many ways.
