Discovery Insurance has been offering this amazing new product to their customers free of charge for over 5 years. The way I see it your fantastic Insurance company is playing catch-up.
Yes Paul, heard of Discovery insurance and their little trackers a bit. Not really there for theft. More to deny claims
They would even go back 2 years or more to show that your driving style is no good to deny a claim !!
Just saying ;)

Johannes, you are missing Paul's point what he was saying is that Discovery was offering exactly the same device albeit it isn't a Beame & it isnt for Fortuners or Hiluxes and it isn't as a 2nd device, but they were 5 years ahead of Santam in not doing any of the things Santam is now doing 5 years later.
Discovery Insure started doing something completely different 5 years ago and now Santam is playing catch up by not doing what Discovery was already doing long ago.

BTW, Discovery launched their device 5 years ago, only 6 years after Beame was launched.

Geddit...?

Yes i get it .

What you do not get , is , they install their little systems in your car , for all the wrong reasons .
Not for theft. GET IT ???
It does not matter if they got their little tracker systems 10 or 20 years ago .
It is purely there to Fork you
They have contacted me twice . I did challenge them , they put the fone down .
So go get your little tracker before they take your Toy . At least they will know where you are and how fast you go down Ondekkers road

Discovery Insure is the 2nd last insurer I would use, after a certain specialist off road insurer, I have heard a lot of negative reports about them on both vehicles and household...

Just received a notice from another insurer.

They require a Matrix MX2 or MX3, Netstar Early Warning, Tracker Care or Bidtrack High Alert tracking device in all the following vehicles:

Toyota Hilux, Fortuner, Prado and Land Cruiser
All Lexus models
Ford Ranger
Volkswagen Polo

In addition, they will no longer cover any of the above vehicles if they are not parked behind secured gates or in a garage or a security estate overnight.

Joe when insurers say your vehicle must be in a Lock UP garage they mean overnight & when you are at home. Not when you are out or on holiday.

In my neighbourhood we have regular incidents where stuff is stolen out of cars, usually laptops but also handbags briefcases, wallets etc.

Why anyone in suburbia does NOT Park in a lock up garage is a mystery to me why these people choose to leave wallets, handbags and laptops in their cars overnight is an even greater mystery.

But as John Wayne said "Life is tough, its tougher if you are stupid"...
