Any opinions on how much Amps (safe maximum) to expect from the puma alternator? I need to determine a maximum I can take out before damaging it, or if I need to upgrade.
(The value I am after is after normal vehicle usage, thus addition free amps...)

I hope a more knowledgeable person comes along with a more definitive answer, but in short, one should ideally not exceed 80% of the alternator rating for continuous use. If I am not mistaken, the Puma has either a 90A or 120A alternator, leaving you with 72A or 96A use in total. The vehicle usage will depend on a number of things such as the lights, spotlights, 2 way radios, normal radio and whatever else the vehicle consumes. After start up, there will also be a period where it replenishes what anti theft devices or the likes consumed as well as the current the starter drew in order to get going. Im guessing the vehicle usage could therefore vary by anything from 2-3 amps or so right up to 40 amps. I would rather work with a maximum than an average in this regard and as a result I would be hesitant to draw more than 30A continuously while running and with kind of current definitely not as soon as the engine shuts down.

I decided to measure this and will update you with some data once I have it. I thought though that the puma has a 150A alternator (believe I read this somewhere). Need to chk the actual device...

Wolley if memory serves Rigardt is correct, you had the 90A and 120A versions(from BMW). 150A sounds very large as a standard.
Best would be to connect everything, run at full capacity (lights, fridge, chargers etc.) and use a clamp ammeter. Each vehicle differs a heck of a lot with all its upgrades etc. Best to take your own measurements and stay within 70-80% of full capacity.
