Ian since you mentioned Haval Jolion, on a recent trip to Dinokeng, we experienced this scene.

We arrived on this particular link, we saw this Jolion, it had wildebeest lying around it Zebra and Rooibok feeding as if nothing is wrong.
We realised after a few minutes that this car is holding us back, blocking the road. I drove into the veld next to it, the car was locked no people to be seen. I called it in and was told, help was on its way, the AA collecting it. The car was abandoned and locked, a breakdown. Further forward i realised they must driven slightly into the veld and drove over a sekelbos tree-stump, we would call it a tyre naaier, it had a sign of something leaking on it, for less than a meter a trail of I believe gear oil.
The Jolion's gearbox was torn by this small tyre naaier.

so in be warned, you could be in for more shit.

Thanks for the response.

The ex has a Prado because she wrote off one of my Patrols during the divorce. Thankfully, this was the 4.8 auto I bought for her and not my 4.5 manual which is my pride and joy.

When my insurance paid out the claim, I replaced it with a similar class vehicle. Similar class but, as far as I am concerned, a lesser one. For me, it was a grudge purchase. Granted - I could have purchased another Patrol for her, but I wanted something a little more gutless, so I settled on a 3L diesel Prado.

I doubt that she really needs anything specifically capable anymore. The way I see it: she is getting a new vehicle at a considerable discount and with a very good trade in for the old Prado.

All things standing, I reckon she has made a good call. That said, I am no longer there to sort out all her vehicle issues or guide her decisions.

I was involved for a bit because she asked for assistance as she felt she was getting the run around from the indies. Her life, her decisions, her calls. :)

Ian, it was meant and aimed to see the funny side of what we saw on the day.
No doubt she will be getting a good deal.

I think Ian should stop being the ex's surrogate partner.
