In what areas, specifically, is it behind the competition..?
It’s behind interiorly and technologically to most brands.

Hilux, outgoing Ranger, newly launched Ranger, P Series…………..
Must I go on?

I'm not aware of any tech missing from the D-Max that is found in the Hilux or Ranger.

But tech does not make for a better vehicle - ask JLR...

I was more interested in the new MUX. But a bit shocked at the price.

The entry level 4x4 LS MUX (about R790k over here) doesn't even have leather seats. Compared to the XLT Everest 4x4, similarly priced, well, value for money...

No way I'd spend R800k+ on a vehicle at my age in this financial climate..........

But maybe I am just jealous of people who must earn R1m+ per year to be able to afford the R15k per month installment and the R5k per month insurance..........they must live in a shack.

Willem, you and Mike Nel "reduneer soos [Boxes]".
Although the MU-X LS 4x4 is significantly cheaper than the 2.0 BiT XLT Everest 4x4, it comes with a 5 year 90k km service plan, while on the Frod the Service plan is an option.

The savings just on the SP is enough to have full leather done on the MU-X.

Compare apples to apples...

Kak.

The LS isn't significantly cheaper than the Everest.

How does the top range MUX compare to the Bit XLT..?

The MUX is overpriced. No way around it. And I don't bite on the "Cruiser-argument" that it will last longer than the Ford...

Isuzu MU-X LSE 4x4 AT - R764000
Ford Everest XLT 4x4 AT - R780000

Ford has leather & optional service plan.
Isuzu has partial leather & a 5 year 90 000km service plan.

The Isuzu is therefore R18 000 cheaper, more than enough for some seat covers.

The Ford is due for replacement, the MU-X is brand new.

Here endth the lesson.

Compare the new upcoming Everest to your new MUX.

Now the lesson is over 😉😉🤣
