Ricoffy I think I’ve seen that video. That vehicle was a base model 1.6 Petrol with no ESP.
But it did look staged. The driver drivers flat out towards a big puddle, then yanks the steering. But as he does so & the car is sideways, the tyres hit a dry section & get grip, which flips the vehicle.
The Duster I find to be pretty stable. When new, mine handled like a go-cart.
But I’m not a fan of the shocks on the early models. They deteriorate & there have been some complaints. It looks like the newer ones are sorted. I’ve driven the Gen2 & they have a much better allround ride & handling. The next version is apparently even better.

That's the one.
But I see what you mean.
Apart from the video, I have never heard any complaints from duster drivers that there are stability issues. With the wheels so close to the corners, I cannot fathom how that driver could have rolled it.
The diesel 4x4 comes standard with ESP right?

Nah it’s bollocks. It even did relatively well on that silly moose test, even though it cocked a wheel like MK1 Golf.
I’ve never had any issues even with my enthusiastic driving.
Yes, all the 4wds are diesel & have ESP.

Some details on price, the AWD should be around R325k when it’s available in January.
The top spec EDC FWD is available now at R335k

Because the 4wd is less popular than the 2wd
And that's the mistake Nissan made when they launched the new Navara, only 4wd versions were available in the beginning, hurt their sales big time as most people are happy with the 2x4 version, and they are cheaper

That’s true. The FWD sells way more. But I think it’s a question of stock availability. SA is a tiny market in the bigger picture so other markets get priority on what’s available.

The new one is a looker. Most notable difference is the sleeker rear side window.
The only thing I don’t like is the shallower boot step. Mine has a protection plate to stop the dogs scratching the top of the bumper. It won’t fit on the new one because there’s no space. The departure angle on the new one is slightly worse off, but not by much.
The only dumb thing they didn’t change was the electric window rear switch position. They are mounted on the arm rest, which is pretty stupid
