Patrol

Post by Mal Hannes »

As some of you know I had to find some cash to keep the wheels turning and so the beloved Amarok was the sacrifice this time.

I then needed wheels and had quite a wide range of vehicles in mind.

The end result was to get a car that I will enjoy now and one day become my play/bush car that can handle the rough.

The Land cruisers and Patrols were left on the list after quickly removing Touareg and Range Rover. These cars after 10 - 15 years looked worn.

Saw a nice 105 in Bloemfontein, test drove some Patrols in Brits and scoured the interwebs for something comfortable, capable and that made me smile.

To cut a long story short my 4.8 Patrol arrived today and I am smiling.

Well done Hannes.
The Patrol 4800 is big, powerful, capable, comfortable & reliable.
The only thing it isn't - is economical...

Thank you Manny

I did not buy it for its economy!

I work 3 km from home after that I can use one of the 2l Ford's (spit)

If I have to travel far I can use Mandy's car for a day or so.

I know my km per liter will go down but including depreciation. My rands per month will be better

Kurt help me how do I use this.

Other questions must I be in park or neatral to go from 2h to 4h or 4l.

I know I know RTFM but I am now lying in bed wondering about this.

I thought I would get away early today to go for a bit of gravel where I can test this, but got home late and have a packed weekend of other commitments.

I will, as Manny means and with the Patrol.

Manny, Mandy would like to have a word with you, Sterkte!
