Here’s some photos of the next XTrail. It’s reportedly going to be very good.

Looks like a squared up Juke. Approach angle looks good too.

That lower lip is actually a state of the art rock slider.

So as much clearance as a Navara then?

Nissan was clever. If you give the Grader too much ground clearance, it will have the same roll-over tendency as a Fortuner. Nissan are light years ahead..

95% of Nissan X-Trails sold are FWD.
95% of AWD X-Trails will only send drive to the front wheels 95% of the time.

So 5% of X-Trails are able to be AWD but that will only happen to 5% of then 5% of the time.

0% will ever be in low range...

You have more chance of dying of Covid-19 than of being in a X-Trail in AWD... statistically...

It doesn’t work like that. It’s not a RAV.

How does the Nissan X Trail 4x4 system work?
In normal conditions, the X-Trail's All-Mode 4x4-i system runs in front-wheel-drive mode to maximise fuel economy. But when grip levels falls due to snow, ice, mud or other adverse conditions, it adjusts the power and torque going to each wheel to ensure the car remains balanced.Aug 10, 2016...

So either the X-Trail detects slippage A LOT or my 5% of 5% of 5% comment is spot on...

If you add all the kilometers driven by all the X-Trails ever sold with drive going to the rear wheels & divide those kilometers by the total kilometers driven by all the X-Trails ever sold you will get a figure of less than 0.006...

As I said, a Covid death factor type figure...
