Very interesting. Never knew ! Although , i think your average 4x4 does or will do more damage to the roads, spinning , digging holes , where the Iveco would just crawl through ! The only damage could be to tree branches , because of height ??
How practical is a Iveco 4x4 really?

I think it is what you said coupled with the width of the truck's track. The normal "twee spoor" will not be wide enough and therefore these trucks will do damage one way or another....

Iveco Eurocargo 4x4 truck is a mere 850k plus VAT. makes me wonder why people use things like a 76 Cruiser pick up for overlanding!

When they launched in SA, they hosted a day at AD where a mate of mine helped them demonstrate its abilities.
It’s certainly no 2.8 Defender in sand but anywhere else there is little that will be able to follow it. As mentioned by Apoc, it’s low range is immense. They’ve got the same sort of offroad reputation as a Mog. There’s no bakkie that’s got that sort of wading depth either.
They’ve got all sorts of impressive features that won’t be found in regular 4x4s. Maniac have done a few of them & I’ve had a closer look. I think the seats might even have air suspension or something like that.
The only negative thing I can think of it’s that they won’t be going very fast once kitted up.

I also think the Iveco will make the ultimate camper. Having a camper of 2.3mil that you only use once or twice a year is out of my reach.
Have been thinking long about this subject. In the end we, me and Swambo decided on the 79 Cruiser. We would love to fit an Abba camper.
In my case the Cruiser is more versatile. When not camping or touring I can use it as a daily drive and 110 other uses.
A guy that I know owns an IVECO. very nice truck but slow and quite a battle to load something on the bak because of its height.
Also when you becomes older changing 37 inch spare wheels can be quite a mission.

I just spent a little of time at Maniacs 4x4. They are busy with an Iveco. Cab is off, so I could have a good look at what they are busy with
Here is the suspension
Looking forward to seeing it once they are done with it
