The Thar has been discontinued in SA, but the last ones sold for around R380000 to R420000.
In India the Force Gurkha was only slightly cheaper.

Last I heard from Mahindra the new gen Thar will be on sale soon - but the company is confused on what they doing, so this might not happen.

So Force motors will open it's doors next month.
No word on pricing yet, but in India the Gurkha sells for 15Lakh & the Jimny goes for R12lakh.
So, in India, it costs a lot more than the Jimny...

Well, seven months later & nothing.
So it's safe to say you were right.
It may not happen...

And for that extra 3Lakh you get 4 times more traction

So, it never arrived? Guess it's not exactly a Force to be reckoned with?

Na, never happened. The Indians are scared of the Chinese over here. GWM/Haval are romping away with sales.

Yip! Dead in the water.

And with the all conquering Toyota launching that Cruiser FJ, they would have failed anyway....

Slowly but surely busy changing my view on Chinese made vehicles. Closely monitoring their trucks and other equipment like mobile cranes and back actors. They have caught up with many more expensive brands.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

The products are improving.
But I'd still stay away from Chery and it's sub brands, LDV, Foton, GAC and the like.
Basically GWM is the only one I'd touch currently....

With the Indians, I'd only go bear Mahindra....
