Hence my comment time will tell. Since Japan almost got wiped off the face of the earth Toyota has not produced their normal reliable cars. They have had airbag, brake, steering recalls to name a few. A few mates have told me they have had issues with their new Fortuners as well.

Land Rover rushed out and had the New Defender compared to the Land Cruiser Prado before the 2.8 motor was fitted.

All tests said the Defender was better.

Haven't seen the Defender compared to the 2.8, bit I'm sure it'll still be marginally better.

The LC300 will destroy the Defender...

But well done Land Rover on getting Journos to compare your break down king with a 9 year old outgoing Toyota...

And the Prado is a piece of under powered shit. Wouldn't take it on a dirt road. Bought a 4lt V6. Thing leaked so much oil on my garage floor I took it back 2 weeks later. Ride is uncomfortable as hell.

... No word of a lie ... Ive just come inside
after answering a guy knocking on my gate,
... yet another chancer wanting to buy my 88 !
Says he rebuilds and sells into the States ...
Luckily they cant see my 2-door Rangy, through the gate.
And my 130 ... I get offers just about every month
and thats only 20 years old ... but a youngster.
As I settle down to sleep each night,
can hear my Landy values ever appreciating,
and of course, Cruisers up the road ... rusting away...

Currently 4 standing in my yard - spanning from '95 to 2018 - no oil leaks either.

Being a farmer dirt roads are par for the course.

Sure, Toyota's aren't the softest rides but so what, they get the job done.

Why would one keep referring to Cruisers on a Land Rover thread.
Have yet to read Cruiser forums where owners talk about other vehicles than Cruisers or Toyotas.

Seems that Toyota is the benchmark for other manufacturers when comparing 4x4's

I've heard a rumour. Apparently when you buy a new Defender, the infotainment system comes preloaded with a few Spice Girls songs.

Think we should start a Great Toyota thread than all the Landy Lovers will post about Landies there.  Cause this Defender thread ended up as a Toyota Thread.
