A Thank You & then a Thank You for the Thank You

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

As some of you may know, the Forum suffered a bit of Cyber Foolery recently.
It didn't affect most ordinary members, but it did affect certain 'Admin' functions.
It also affected certain people's access to the Forum via Tappitalk.

After 2 weeks trying to get it sorted, to no avail, I approached iandvl who is a past Master at such things.
Within 48 hours all was well-sorted and the Forum. He is also sorting out the Forum on Tappitalk.

But wait! There's more...
I asked Ian if we could have a 'Thank You' function on posts.
This is something we have wanted for ages! Well this has been done!
You can test it by Thanking this post (Thumbs up top right corner).

Ian, the 4x4 Action Group, it's Forum & I, owe you a great debt.

Expect a case or two of beer shortly.

Thank You!

Really no problem. Tis what I do. The Tapatalk issues should be sorted out in the next 48 hours. :)

Thanks for getting it sorted out Ian.
I'll have to be shown where the "Thanks" button is hiding.

Weird. The button shows for me - the thumbs up icon next to the quote button.

It appears that this might not be showing on Apple devices (going by Flip's screenshot). I will investigate.

Guys using Apple, Hand Held Devices & Phones can't seem to find the Thumbs Up button.

It's either, as Ian says, an Apple issue or it's a Mobile Device issue.

I also don't think the Tappitsquawkers can see it...

Tapatalkers will not see it until the config is fixed.

But I am still waiting for Tapatalk themselves to transfer the forum config to me so that I can edit this. Mail was sent yesterday and I received a response with instructions for the process to follow last night sometime.

From their mail time-stamps, they are about 6 hours behind us, so I guess I will be able to get that working during the course of the day tomorrow.

Can somebody with an Apple device perhaps check now ?

If the thumbs-up button is still not showing as per my earlier screenshot, I will continue digging.
