ORRA Certificates

#1

Post by iandvl »

I often get overwhelmed sorting out the 4x4AG Membership Certificates required to obtain an ORRA User Authority - it has always been a manual process...

But I've made some changes...

If you are a paid up member, you can grab the stuff on your own from now on.

Point your browser at https://www.4x4actiongroup.co.za/

Click on the "Membership" link at the top (or scroll down) to the "Join, Renew or Download Your 4x4AG Membership Certificate" stuff.

Enter your ID and mail as you used when you registered.

If you are a paid up member of 4x4AG, you will have a link to download your membership certificate...

A few images of the process:

Step 1: Click on Membership icon at the top.

Step 2: Enter your ID / Passport number and the mail address you used to register.

Step 3: Scroll down to the end of the form and click the "Download certificate" thingymajig.

Step 4: The PDF copy of your membership certificate will open in a new window. Save to disk etc.

This should help everybody...

This is great!
Most members fall into the "I'm only here for the ORRA license" category.
This means they'll be less of an irritation going forward.

Good work Cnut.

Exackery - why I decided to make it easier for everybody. Because otherwise I get panicked folk trying to get their ORRA authorisations in on a Friday when they are leaving on Saturday and I am day-drinking... :)

Procedure:
1. Plan an Overlanding trip.
2. Order a Radio
3. Find out you need an ORRA User Authority.
4. Ask around and find out that 4x4AG is the cheapest and easiest way to get one. *
5. Pack
6. In 30 minutes: Join 4x4AG, ask for a Membership Certificate, complain when, 30 minutes later, it's not in your Inbox.
7. By minute 31 you've pissed Manny Off.
8. Nag. Piss Manny off more.
9. Get the Radio.
10. Have it fitted
11. Go on your trip
12. Ignore the Club until you receive your ORRA renewal.
13. Piss Manny off again.
14. Get angry when Manny complains that you are not participating in 4x4AG stuff.
15. Repeat steps 12 to 14 endlessly....

* This will be changing in 2025....

Welcome back from the dead, Colin. It's been years! .
A while ago we did an update where Life Members had to complete renewal forms.
Those who didnt were marked as deceased.
I have updated you to Valid.
I'm very forgiving.
You should be able to download the Certificate now.
