Got a quote from VW today for two gas struts (shocks) - my wife's VW boot wants to sever her fingers constantly.
VW quote's R1,2k for a pair.
At Midas a pair will set me back R700 - but they have no stock left.
The price difference is shocking.

Many places do not like to re-gas the struts as the seals are generally old and brittle, so they regas and in a few days or weeks they give up again.

I know your are situated in North Nam but for what it is worth when we toured Nam in 2018 I needed a set of 4 for the pop up roof of our caravan.
As luck would have it a forum member on different chat advised me to go to Diesel Electric in Windhoek.
I was helped out on 15 minutes flat and happily R700 poorer for 4.
So if you have connections in Windhoek...
