It's going to be a long 21 days..... and I expect it will probably be extended given the behaviour of some!

Initially everyone will watch tv, catch up on house work and visit their favourite forums.
But I expect that people will soon tire of this as the novelty wears off.

I have to work, so for me it's business as usual. The lockdown should not affect me as much as someone living in a townhouse.

So why don't we start up a WA group just for this period. It's quick and easy to upload whatever you're busy with and could help some remain sane.... It will also prevent excessive data being uploaded to the forum.

Manny has the numbers and as the admin he can close it afterwards. Or whoever might be in charge of this.

Those currently working can post clips of their daily tasks. Those working on projects, at home or whatever....

The biggest battle will be a mental one to adhere to the rules. Who knows, this might help.

Just s thought.
Shane, there is a 4x4AG 'Kak praat' WhatsApp group.
I'm not on it, but maybe oneof the admins can add you.

Fortunately I'm alone. Wife and kids isolated on their family farm just outside Orania...

Just have to ensure I don't throttle anyone at work!

Halfway through building a new security gate for the back door and my welder has died. Why couldn't it have handed in its lunchbox 2 days ago when I could have replaced it. It has lasted 20 years so it isn't bad for a small hobby MIG machine.

I also have a small MIG welder of about the same age that has died a few times. Check the spade connectors on the controller wiring - they sometimes lose "tension" due to old age and heat. Easy fix

My planned welding projects also had to be canned - I bought a TIG kit and wanted to start teaching myself to use it properly over this period, but my Argon gas supplier closed a day early for some stupid reason
I refuse to be POLITICALLY CORRECT to impress others - Deal with it

I've checked all the connections and put external power onto the drive motor, which works, but still no joy. Seems to controller has died.

I spoke to Emile.

Here is the link to join the 4x4AG Kakpraat group.

Note: No Committee member is there & it's not an official Club WhatsApp Group.

It turns out that thermal cutout switch that failed Grips. As a temporary fix until I can get spares I have bypassed the switch. I'll leave the one cover off the machine and have an external fan blowing into the internals as additional cooling.
