Is it only me ?

I seldom make it to the end watching Youtube video`s. Sure there are lots of interesting ones with lots of info. It sometimes just sort of get me.
Watching a 15 min video with 3 minutes worth of info.

Much easier for me to read the same info. I can scan through an article or write up and have the same info in a few seconds.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

Youtube is a business, much the same as any other.

Jy gaan altyd iemand kry wat eers vir 10 minute wil kak praat voordat hy jou aanvanklike vraag antwoord met die hoop dat hy ander kak aan jou kan verkoop. Youtube is maar dieselfde.

It is not only you. I do the same. Often I start it a minute or two into the video, then i can see whether its worth watching.

You are not alone.

I watch the intro, see where it is going, then "fast forward" on the red bar (whatever that is called) to try pick up anything that may just indicate the value of the content.

With short clips contained in one video I do not make it to the end. Except the weird engines videos. I complete those.

YouTube give credits to video's over 10 mins, so all you get is some chop wasting time to get his clip to be longer, so yes, plenty time wasted...

Those engine videos are VERY frustrating sometimes. Every person has his own way of approaching things, and I am a control freak. When I watch someone doing a video on an engine (or a part for that matter) I often find myself cursing the guy to stop talking and get to the reason why I am watching the video.

I never watch repair or assembly type videos. I have manuals for all my vehicles. Have found many specs in videos to be wrong and not as per manufacture spec.

Many Youtubers waffle on, pad the program & waste time.
The private ones do it because they think they need to & they are self obsessed.
Sometimes the more commercial guys do it, because the subject matter is only worth 12mins but they need to fill a 30 minute slot.

I watch a lot of Youtube videos presented by Simon Whistler (Biographics, TopTenz, Visual Politik , and others) - not 4x4 related.
His presentation style is brisk, short & as to the point as he can possible be.
It's impossible for him to bore you. The amateur 4x4 Youtubers could learn a lot from him.

The old saying, that referred to giving speeches, applies to YouTubers;
"A good presentation is like a mini-skirt - it should be long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to sustain interest."

4WD Action keeps me interested until the cooking part (so pointless) and the bloopers.

The rest of the show (sometimes around an hour in total) is very good.

But yes, I also stop watching plenty YouTube videos due to waffling or boring content.
