I have faith in the trackers. I don't trust the fitters.

So... you wont have a tracker fitted.
You do have a tracker fitted.

I think Anti Trackers are like Anti Vaxxers.

You guys need to wear tin foil hats...
The only tinfoil hat I need is to block out the kak you usually say.

The SX4 came with it fitted as new... "a selling point". I doubt that even a single SX4 has ever ben stolen.

It's cost me one battery, and it's probably going to cost me another.

Not worth having a battery charger when the car is not in use?

By the time my brain remembers to think about charging the battery, it's completely flat again.

My tracking company calls me if they dont detect movement from a vehicle after a period of time.

I then make a point of using that vehicle as soon as possible...

It's a brilliant reminder system.

Discovery Insure.

I have a 2008 Suzuki SX4, which doesn't get driven much, but the tracker is pretty effective at draining it's battery.
Err.. coupla things;
1. I'd rather fit 3different Tracking devises than insure with Discovery Insure.
2. You are blaming a tracking device for a battery draining due to disuse.
I had a Merc 280SL, no device. Drove it seldom.
Had to jump start it every time & batteries barely made a year.
Use the vehicle one day a week & that 'Tracking' problem will disappear...

Who is your service provider?

I am with Skytrax.
It's through Tracker.
Costs me R1999.95pm for 6 vehicles.

My guys (Colt) arrived at a client at 09:40.
I called them & asked why they took so long.
They said 'Traffic'.
I ran the Skytrax Trip Report on that vehicle.
I think the 21 minutes wasted going to Spar (for 18mins the engine was off) was to blame.

A difficult client called me one night.
Shouting saying my guys left there "...before 3 o'clock!!!".
He then proceeded to shout & carry on like a Bi-Polar idiot.

I checked Skytrax (KB250D).
They started the vehicle at 16:02.
It only moved at 16:17 (so it was idling while they loaded - as is policy).
At 16:19 they stopped at the security gate to 'sign out'.
At 16:21 they were still in his street.

I sent the report to client later with a politely worded "Don't talk sh!t' note...

I think we digressing here - personally I’m glad to see another insurance competitor in what is a very bespoke field of true off road and cross border travel.
It’s a small niche in the bigger scheme of things and the traditional larger insurance companies don’t really cater for this irrespective if the say they comply with repatriation over borders - in truth it’s up to you to get the vehicle to the border and they will compensate some of the costs. That’s a far cry to being stuck in a country where you don’t speak the language and a professional outfit takes care of everything for you.
Needless to say I welcome this additional services to our community and am confident it will support better rates and services over time
