This was not advertised on this Forum, however I'm sure a few members attended...

Any feedback?

I think Duster Jack went, that’s why he didn’t come to De Wildt with us yesterday.

Kurt dozens of people didn't attend De Wildt because of the outdoor show.
Now that I started this Thread I'm sure they dashed out of Church this morning to go attend...

Okay, it has been confirmed by this thread, that the low turnout at De Wildt is because it is too tame.

Our members are definitely into the more extreme trails.

Time to up the ante!

I went to De wildt with the AG on Saturday, had a lekker drive and kuier then I went to the show on Sunday. I attended the show as Off course 4x4 with Japie (the producer. We wanted to gauge interest and promote the series.
There certainly was lots to see and it appeared to be well organised. You could buy tickets via computicket or at the gate. We paid at the gate, and while there were loads of people (around 100) in the queue, it took about 3 minutes to get in. Proper system going there.
We wound our way up and down the rows of exhibitors while parachutists floated down, helicopter flights chopping around, music and announcers going... there was a lot going on. There must have been over 300 stands. Everything from tyres to bull bars, winches, lights, awnings, trailers, caravans, cars, bakkies, 6wd land cruisers, military displays, (old and new), loads of food stalls, parts suppliers, batteries, charging systems, solar, pots, pans, hats, shoes, sunglasses, knives.... lots. By 3pm we had enough even though we had not seen everything. The show gets a thumbs up from me.

We ended up not going. Had I known sooner that things would fall through I would have bust a nut to join the trail on saturday.

Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry I could not make it. I've done De Wildt and will do it again. Lovely track.
