They are killing the Pajero

So after 37 years & over 3 million cars sold, they are killing off the Pajero. The current model has been around since 2006!
They cite emissions standards as the reason but I think it’s a poor argument when considering how many other manufacturers face the same challenges, yet continue to make SUVs in a very competitive growth market.
I think the real reason is that they never evolved it so it got left behind. The Axis has plenty of emissions efficient engines that they could have used. Then there’s the Pajero Sport which stole its act.
Pajero still have the record of 12 Dakar wins of which the last win was its 7th consecutive win. It’s unlikely that their record will ever be beaten.

Old news, but yes they haven’t done much to bring it up to the newer standards required.
The new Pajero Sport is definitely a worthy replacement even though it’s not 4 wheel independent.

I know it’s old news but I was expecting the Axis to do something with it after they bought Mitsubishi

... I know Kurts waiting for my very own objective, un-conflicted, in-depth review ...
... but this’ll keep him happy in the mean while...

Mine is my last vehicle so going have to face all the critics with a brave face. Still love it to bits.

Keep it and be proud Henri. I drove behind a new one today. Don't like it with those long back lights.

That’s the Pajero Sport, Nico, not the Pajero

Thanks Nico.
Kurt is right. You are refering to the Sport. Nice very nice vehicle. If I had one I would tape up the looooong sections of those rear lights.
