Absence of censorship
I bet I’m not the only one that has noticed a distinct absence of extreme moderation, deleted posts & threads on this forum.
I’ve got a theory on why it’s working so well but it would be interesting to hear others thoughts?

Just a different culture.
Don't need to be PC, but because of that, no-one really pushes the envelope.
More action and less words kind of forum.
I like it!

A couple of differences between 4x4ag Forum & other renown Forums:
* Members are treated like adults (as mentioned above)
* Moderation is done by a team - not one or two individuals.
* Mods try very hard to NOT moderate.
* Mods look at the context - if a guy says Ranger's are crap, but it is in context, the Mods will allow.
If, however, a guy says Cruisers are crap he is clearly an idiot - it's all about context!
* Fear - if a guy, with say, a Hilux, says the Hilux is better than a Colt - he must know we'll see that as a challenge & set one up!
* ...and lastly - No Pub...

This is a very new & relatively small forum so it’s difficult to compare, but there’s some truths that are glaringly apparent.
My take is that 4x4’ing as a subject focus has had zero impact on the tone & behaviours on this very new forum.
I think that the attraction so far is the lack of moderation personal agendas, as well as the absence of a control freak that’s living in the past with regards to internet platforms & how to manage them.
To all intents & purposes, this forum is largely self-regulated by its members.
Censorship would ruin it, just like the old dying platforms.

I do think as this forum is specifically a 4x4 forum, it will not have thousands of members, but it will also not have the same turnover iro members as other forums.
