Hi All

As the keen-eyed among us may have noticed, there is a new banner-ad at the top!

A month ago I quit the rat-race and started a small engineering business - Creative Metals, based in Tokai. It has been blood sweat and tears to get set up and equipped, getting suppliers on board and settled in. The chase is also on to build a customer base during these very quiet times. If you are in the area, please come visit - coffee, tea or beer will be at hand!

Our precision engineering shop focus on the below:

We have a fully equipped engineering workshop with the following machinery and services available:
· 3D Printing
· CNC Milling and turning
· Conventional Turning and Milling
· Tig Welding (Mild steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium)
· Mig Welding
· Keyways
· Broaching
· Gear-cutting

We also provide our customers with:
· Laser and plasma cutting
· Bending
· Fabrication
· Polyurethane casting
. Brake disc skimming
. Flywheel skimming

Now to the reason for posting here - We specialize in welding of aluminium, stainless, cast-iron etc.
I also manufacture knife making machines and will sharpen your knives as well, for those that want a long lasting edge.
I plan to make a number of products and will post on here as they develop. I have a fantastic luggage trailer design that I will be building in July and will post the build progress.

My shop is small enough to cater for the small and once-off creations/fixes etc. that requires machine time. So please keep me in mind when you require any of the above, or a mod to your trailer or 4x4. Custom bumpers, bull-bars, braais, fireplaces, grates - name it, if it is metal I will be able to build it.

Thanks for the background Johann and I will definitely bear it in mind and bring work down if I head that way.
Thing may be to set up with a semi-dedicated courier guy that can enable you to easier tap the Joburg market too?

Well done and good luck. Big Balls to start up new business in these times, but also the best time. Hard work now and the success will follow. I'll pop in on my next trip to Cape Town.
