No Manny, at 5km/h those tyres that I posted are quieter than the BFGs I have on that have done over 50,000km at 120km/h.
I’m showing you facts, like the pictures of delaminated or damaged BFG’s posted above that prove inconclusively that they are crap.

I’m not a fan of BF’s but the KM3’s are decent offroad.
BF’s are very common just like Toyota’s

I second this. The disco came with BFG’s that were as worn out as a certain Sea Point residents rear...
Vibrated like crazy, noisy, fuel consumption sucked...
But I still managed to sell them to some farmer in the Winelands for 6k, who absolutely swears by them.

... well as you say
“that prove inconclusively
that they are crap“ ... I can accept...
... as regards tyre noise its not something
I spend hours worrying about ...
if I wind down the window of my big TD5 130
I cant hear Robin Red-Breast tweeting either!
... just the most mellifluous 4*4 motor there is!
To go off -topic though as off-road tyres
I generally find BFGs are great ... and resilient.

Manny is correct.
Also very much of a compromise from a tar ride point of view. 50 000km and mine are irritatingly noisy as a daily drive.
Also now with winter when I hit the highway the car wants to shake itself to pieces until the tyres get some heat into them.
In the dunes fine line below 0.8 bar to not risk debeading.
Any other offroad and trial situation they are like Mannys wheels. Fearless

... to (too?) many of the preceding experts
find close similarities to women ...
looks & sounds more important than performance ?

I think BF’s are loosing market share. Not because they are crap, but because more manufacturers are putting white lettering on their tires
And the white letters are ultimately what people want

Let me honest though, the ONLY reason I have BFG on is because I got them for R3k per tyre (265/65R17) plus the fitment centre gave me R1500 for my worn paper thin Hankooks. So I ultimately paid R2625 per tyre.
They are certainly not my first choice.
If I had to buy an LT spec A/T tyre now, my first choice would be Cooper Discover AT/3 LT.
Second choice would probably be Michelin LTX2

BFG's are not the most expensive.
Coopers, for example, cost way more...
