The 4X4 You Dream About

#1

Post by grips »

Ok over the years I have owned built and modified several 4x4`s.

Always had a dream about an American 4x4 with a nice v8. Then the Yank Ranger crossed my road. I built my dream. With the Yank Ranger passed on to my eldest son I start dreaming again.

This time a shorty 70 Series Land Cruiser with a Chevy LS V8. So yes I catch myself spending more and more time around planing this little bugger.
Shorty Cruisers go nasty prices. So may be I will just create my own by using a donor 70 Series Cruiser and add the OEM shorty body panels.

My English teacher had a saying , Every dream might come true but you might have to work for it however

I would love a well kitted Landcruiser 200VX Diesel. Just because I have a large family and enjoy the comfort as well as reliability. Something like this:

My current dream list:

Land Cruiser 76 V8 D-4D like Grips has.
Land Cruiser 200GX D-4D like Mike Nel has.
Land Cruiser Prado 3.0 D-4D 2018 modelo TX.
Old 2 door Gelandenwagen G300.
Old Unimog.
Would also love to find a Hilux SFA 2.8D in good condition & restore it & turn it into a tweaked D-4D.
But they sold very few in diesel & I doubt there are any still around in any salvageable condition.

2006 Conqueror Conquest 'Gearless'

I assume I will have to be more realistic and dream of a TDv8 Range Rover Sport.

My needs is comfortable daily freeway and muddy sites.
Long distance tow vehicle.
Small enough for shopping centres and parking lots.
capable enough for lite off road.

Did I say comfortable and safe.

Its not hardcore like you tough guys but it is my dream.
