Enamel is for painting houses not vehicles.
2K for normal surfaces and something like Hammerite or rubberising for areas that could get easily damaged.
The final coat will only be as good as the preparation of the base metal and the primer used.

No expert in choice of paint but my 5c.
My rubbish trailer (as in removal of garden rubbish NOT a rubbish trailer) is now 15 years old since its last rebuild. Stands outside all the time. I used a yellow metal primer and ordinary enamel paint. The trick is to make sure the metal surface is clean of all slag and rust before painting the primer on.
