Here in sunny South Africa the Old Ford Trucks like the F250 and F100 have outlived their Chevy and Dodge brothers. You almost see a old F250/100 on a daily basis. Chevy trucks from the same era you hardly see.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

Christo, here in civilization I experience the exact opposite to your observation. I cannot remember when I last saw a Ford F100/250 from the '70's while the C10/20s are a dime a dozen.

The C-series Chevys had a bad rep in the Northern Cape, due to the "soft" (read comfy) torsion bar front suspension which tended to sag a little. The average NC farm mechie did not realize how easy it is adjusted, though.
