Sadly Babylonstoorn is a trail I never got the oppertunity to drive.
As far as I recall, I remember a story about an acident on the trail that lead to a death. That's why it got closed. I speak under correction

I did it it a few times & wouldn’t call it particularly difficult, but there’s plenty of places to roll or fall of the mountain. I believe that’s what happened but many years ago with a Defender.
But we did the trail a few times after that incident, unless there was a subsequent one that happened.

I have also done it a few times and it was no more dangerous than most mountain trails.
I believe this is where a member of THAT forum rolled a Jimny as well, a few years ago ???

Hey Guys! Didn’t know there was this forum on the go.
Yip, I remember that one. He later joined us in a Defender 90 on the same trail. Guys have rolled vehicles on just about every trail unfortunately.

I feel that we are running out of places to visit.
Yes if you look at the list it looks like plenty. But most of those are more than 90min drive from Cape Town.
Not really ideal for GTG on a Saturday or Sunday unless you spend the weekend there

Is 90mins considered a long drive in the WC ?

I reckon 90 minute drive anywhere is at the limit for a day drive. That’s 3 hours on the road there and back, 1 hour for arrival/departure/discussion/inflation/deflation etc., 3-4 hour trail drive and maybe an hour for a frosty afterwards = result whole day out. If group is maybe limited to 4 or 5 vehicles with experienced drivers, maybe cut trail time down by an hour or so.
