I'd actually say, snorkel, out of all the mods you can do to a 4x4, this is probably the most unnecessary.

Interesting thread.

I tried to think of something (the thread is about 4x4 modifications and a Raptor kits and decals are not a 4x4 mods...) and I have come to the conclusion that it depends on what vehicle..

For instance: As said before, a offroad bumper and a snorkel on an Amarok  or a "long range tank" on a Patrol...
Or a bash plate on a Landy...
Patrols NEED long range tanks to make it to the next fuel station

Have to disagree. And that from somebody that has actually ended up nipple deep in a pond, and lost a engine. Snorkel would have saved the day.

Assuming the snorkel that was fitted was sealed and designed for water use and not like 90% of them out there that are only for dust...biggest mistake people make is getting a snorkel fitted thinking it means they can now submerge the car without proper sealing.

Designed and built myself, and tested periodically, as well as when air filter gets checked every 10K km.
My seal test when I was building it.
