Hi everybody,

Thank you for approving my application.

I am now retired and expect to do a lot of gravel road road touring once I have settled my finances
Am thinking of buying an XLT with a OKTO gravellor

Any advice would be appreciated

Welcome Redone!

A Ford is great for retired travellers - you have the time to wait for the flatbed... :D

Only joking, let's see what Overlanders like Andreas and Iandvl say....

Welcome Redone. Sure the Ford will be fine.

I don't know the OKTO Gravellor and cannot really comment on that. Gravel road touring sounds all goodly. But I guess it all depends on where you want to go. When touring, I prefer not towing. Yes - I've seen people tow offroad trailers down the Kamgab river bed etc. I just prefer not having to worry about towing in circumstances like that.

Any advice will depend on where you're planning to go...

Welcome Redone. Only advice I can give about an off road trailer setup is take your time before you buy. Try to rent one or two for a weekend away and you will soon see what your requirements will be. It could save you money in the long term.

You already have some very good advice from Andreas. I have seen a selection of trailers and vans available for hire at Kempton Caravans. I've always found them to be very helpful.
