Hi folks. Ian de Villiers aka Iandvl.

Manny (in this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1425) specified that we sort of don't like each other. It is a bit of understatement - we do not like each other at all. But I am happy he followed my advice about not buying wood in Harties. Pity he didn't follow my advice about other things too. Perhaps there is still hope.

Sadly, on the afore-mentioned thread, I will not be making that trip for two major reasons:

I am super selective in terms of:

(i) the clubs I join.
(ii) where I hang out.

There are probably other reasons too, but until Mitsubishi ups the standard and gives us more integers, I'll stick with two.

For those wanting a very interesting route to the venue, please feel free to PM me. You can do it on dirt pretty much all the way from Brits. With all the rain, that route will be interesting.

For people who don't know me, I work in computers and I live in Pretoria East.

Likes:

Large vehicles and large-displacement motors
Camping, touring and general messing about outdoors
Petrol

Dislikes:

Small vehicles and small-displacement motors - including vehicles like Fearless, and motors like the one that is installed therein.
Super Select[nn]
Bankers (yes, Kurt)
Diesel

I try and fit in several tours a year - time and finances permitting. And then the generic trails and weekends away too.

I'll close with a photo of my truck at Riemvasmaak.

Welcome Ian .

Judging by your likes/dislikes - I'm trying to figure out if you suffer from SPS or LPS?

Either way - your creds are good amd you'll enjoy it here.

Thanks for the greetings folks. Sorry Kurt - I had noticed you are quite active here and I had to get my little dig in. Hope all is well on mud island. :)

@Shane - not sure what you are referring to SPS / LPS. I'm just normally a miserable grumpy old fart. :)

@Johannes - bitter baie lank terug gesels. Hoop alles loop goed daai kant.
